Tiger Eye’s Sumac

Tiger Eye’s Sumac

in Plant of the Week

Tiger Eye’s Sumac: This variety of staghorn sumac sports a cut-leaf and beautiful, chartreuse new growth that turns yellow with age. Although the summer color adds a nice contrast, the star of the show is the display of orange, yellow and bright red that adorn the plant in the fall. This sumac can endure a wide range of soil types, but needs full sun (6 or more hours of direct sunlight). Its medium size (6’ tall and wide) make it perfect for small hedges, or as a focal point in a sunny bed.

Size: 6’ Tall and wide
